About the project
Back to Pompeii is a Roman dice game developed for the exhibition of the same name, turning a simple game of chance into a playful journey into ancient Roman culture.
Players take turns rolling three dice, paying an ante into the pot, and gathering gold to outlast their opponents. Special rolls can change the game instantly: Venus brings victory, Canis eliminates a player, and Vulturii awards half the pot.
Escalating rounds, Roman terminology, animated dice, and coins give each turn its own rhythm while making the exhibition's theme accessible through direct, replayable play.
